Because nature is our elixir of life. The foundation of our being. And demands absolute loyalty, especially at our alpine heights. She gives us an incredible treasure every day, a wealth of gifts. In every dimension. And thus helps to maintain a (still) relatively functioning cycle.
BUT: With a very clear mandate for us. to take responsibility and ensure that this delicate balance is maintained. With every consequence.
Give. And take. Is the maxim of our thinking.
After all, everyone involved can only benefit if they work together in harmony.
Accordingly, we have taken numerous measures to meet our target.
Here is a brief overview.
SUSTAINABILITY MEASURES
- REGIONAL PRODUCTS
In our kitchen, mainly regional products from local farmers are processed into culinary highlights. But we also harvest herbs from our own lovingly tended garden that are simply incomparable in taste.
- HOMEMADE PRODUCTS
Simply good by tradition: as we have done for generations, we process local produce into culinary masterpieces according to old recipes. Whether it’s jam, liqueurs and syrups made from fruit and herbs from the garden, home-baked bread made from ancient grains from a mill in Salzburger Land, fair trade coffee beans roasted in the hotel’s own coffee roastery or bacon from our own production with meat from our own farm in Grossarl.
The processing of these products is an inspiration for us. And dedication. - Energy generation from geothermal energy and photovoltaics
We generate our own energy from geothermal energy and photovoltaic systems to heat and cool the house and our water worlds.
- Use of sustainable natural materials
We use regional materials from our natural surroundings in the Gastein Valley, such as wood, stone, leather and much more, both in construction and design.
- NATURAL COSMETICS FROM THE MOUNTAINS
In our SPA, the Nature’s Nest, we also only use natural cosmetic products. Team Dr. Joseph is a professional partner who, like us, loves and appreciates our alpine nature.
- E-MOBILITY
In order to protect our environment in terms of CO² emissions, we provide our guests with an e-fleet with cakes, e-bikes and an Audi E-Tron. In this way, our region can be explored with a clear conscience.
- FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE
Of course, we support those guests who plan to travel to us by train:
Of course, we offer a free shuttle service to pick up our guests from the train station and bring them back. - DIGITAL SOLUTIONS
In order to provide our guests with the best possible information while conserving resources, we now use digital programs such as in-room TV and apps.
In this way, we are able to use less paper but still deliver all the necessary and important information. - E-CHARGING STATIONS FOR E-CARS
Brand new with us:
We offer 2 charging stations, each with two charging points for electric cars to refuel.
1 charging point has at least 11 KW.
Billing is carried out by the external provider MOON Power.
