Yes. DAS.GOLDBERG is the ideal starting point for an active vacation in the Gastein Valley. In summer, numerous hiking trails and mountain tours begin right at the hotel entrance and lead through the impressive nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park. In winter, the hotel is located directly on the valley run of the Schlossalm and offers true ski-in-ski-out convenience with direct access to the Gastein ski area in Ski amadé. Hiking and skiing experiences start without detours – right in the heart of the Salzburg mountain world.

Around DAS.GOLDBERG, guests can expect numerous attractions in the Gastein Valley and Salzburger Land. - How do I reach DAS.GOLDBERG?
DAS.GOLDBERG is easily accessible by car, train, or plane. The 5-star hotel is located above Bad Hofgastein in Salzburger Land and is only about an hour’s drive from Salzburg, around two and a half hours from Munich, and approximately one and a half hours from Villach. Bad Hofgastein train station offers direct train connections from Austria and Germany and is located just a few minutes from the hotel. The airports in Salzburg, Munich, and Klagenfurt are also suitable for arrival.
- Can I vacation in Gastein without a car?
Yes. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure in the Gastein Valley, the region can be comfortably explored even without a car. Bad Hofgastein train station is only a few minutes from DAS.GOLDBERG and offers connections to national and international train services. For guests travelling by train, we offer a free transfer from Bad Hofgastein train station. From Dorfgastein and Bad Gastein train stations, we’ll be happy to arrange a taxi.
Additionally, guests receive the complimentary Guest Mobility Ticket for the duration of their stay. This allows free use of all public transportation throughout Salzburger Land – including buses, S-Bahn trains, and regional and long-distance trains. Upon request, the ticket can be provided before arrival, making travel by public transportation particularly convenient and free of charge.
During the stay, daily shuttle services are also available between the hotel and the center of Bad Hofgastein. At scheduled times, guests are comfortably transported to the valley and brought back to the hotel.
On-site, buses and mountain railways connect the main attractions, hiking areas, and sights in the Gastein Valley. Many hiking trails and nature experiences also begin directly at the hotel, so nothing stands in the way of a mountain vacation without your own vehicle.
