Biberalm – Leisurely hiking with a view
At 1,735 meters, the Biberalm in Bad Hofgastein awaits as a wonderful destination for everyone who wants to combine hiking with culinary enjoyment. The starting point is the Brandebengut above Bad Hofgastein. From there, the path leads through the forest, past the Hubertus Chapel and beautiful spots of power and panoramic views up to the alpine pasture. Plan approximately one and a half to two hours for the ascent.
Once at the top, the view opens up across the Gastein Valley to the peaks of the Hohe Tauern. A well-deserved break is a must here – ideally with an alpine snack featuring home-grown products.
Feldinghütte – up to the Gadaunerer Hochalm
Heading a little higher to the Feldinghütte on the Gadaunerer Hochalm. At 1,841 meters, the hut is already above the tree line, surrounded by alpine meadows and an impressive mountain backdrop. Various paths lead up: From Angertal, the ascent via the Gadaunerer forest path takes about three hours, while the steeper “Wolfstall” route takes around 1¾ hours. Another variation leads from Lackenbauer via the Lafenmahder to the Feldinghütte in about two hours.
Once at the top, not only sweeping views and mountain air await, but also typical alpine delights – from various types of cheese and alpine snacks to homemade cakes.
Bockhartseen – Mountain lakes and the Hohe Tauern
A tour for everyone who wants to experience authentic hiking in the Gastein Valley : From Sportgastein, the hike leads up to the Bockhartseen lakes. First you reach the Lower Bockhartsee at 1,872 meters, then the path continues to the smaller Upper Bockhartsee. All around, the peaks of the Hohe Tauern and the alpine landscape accompany the path.
Plan around four hours, eight kilometers, and about 530 meters of elevation gain for the entire tour. A stop at the Bockhartseehütte can be wonderfully combined with the hike.
Bärsteinalm – start hiking directly from DAS.GOLDBERG
Put on your hiking boots and start right outside the hotel door: The Bärsteinalm in Bad Hofgastein is a beautiful destination for a delightful hike in the Gastein mountains. From DAS.GOLDBERG, the path leads through nature up to the cozy alpine hut at around 1,290 meters. Depending on your pace, you should plan for about 1 to 1.5 hours of walking time for the ascent.
