MUSIC IN THE ALPS

CLASSICAL MUSIC MEETS MOUNTAINS

MUSIC IN THE ALPS

The spirit of the Belle Époque lives on in the Gastein Valley and is reminiscent of fine house concerts, classical music and convivial gatherings that were legendary in the days of the “summer resort”. The characteristic backdrop of the imposing buildings in contrast to nature alone inspires artistic exploration. Today, concerts, exhibitions, film events and various art and music festivals – from classical to contemporary – are part of Gastein’s cultural program all year round.

MUSIC FOR ALL SENSES
  • BERG:KLASSIK IN GASTEIN // Evening concert at 2,066 meters above sea level

40 musicians from the Philharmonie Salzburg, conducted by Elisabeth Fuchs, will make the mountain and the firmament resound. The symphonies contain numerous natural motifs, and where could these be better appreciated than exactly where they were inspired: in nature itself. At the mountain station of the Schlossalmbahn and surrounded by imposing peaks such as the Mauskarspitze and Hirschkarspitze, you can enjoy a wonderful evening of music.

More information and tickets can be found here.

  • Alm:Classic in Bad Hofgastein

Every year, classical concerts are held against a spectacular mountain backdrop on the Gastein Alpine pastures under the motto ALM:KLASSIK. The Alm as a concert hall. The popular Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra and various folk music groups perform excerpts from their repertoire in the midst of nature. Admission to the concerts is free of charge.

  • Jazz at the sawmill

The Musik und Kunst und Literatur im Sägewerk association is one of the most important addresses for jazz in Austria and attracts visitors all year round with its top-class events – concerts, cabaret, workshops, films, lectures and art exhibitions.
